League Update

Dear Member Clubs,

Remembrance Weekend

This coming weekend is Remembrance Weekend. A minutes silence should be held before each game on Saturday and Sunday.

The League are also happy for teams to wear adhesive poppies that many teams have purchased from www.poppies4kits.co.uk

Portable Plastic Goals

Can you please ensure when using the small portable plastic goals that they are secured to the ground, we have had quite a few instances recently where kick off has had to be delayed by the referee whilst the the goals are secured, I am sure I do not need to remind you that this is a serious Health and Safety issue.

Registration Cards

Yet again this weekend we had teams and odd players from teams turning up to play with no registration card. Our rules are quite clear “NO CARD – NO PLAY” regardless of the age group! Please do not take players to a match that are not registered as it is not fair on the opposition or referee to refuse to allow a player to play; the person who brings the player is responsible and should know better. If teams continue to do this they will be called in for a disciplinary meeting with the League.

Kind Regards.

League Update

Dear Member Clubs,

League Cup and League Shield

This weekend sees the start of our League Cup and League Shield for some age groups.

Please remember to let your Fixture Secretary know the result ASAP after the game, as they need to enter the result, as for Cup games, teams cannot enter the result themselves.

Once Mitoo has been updated by your Fixture Secretary, the result card can then be completed in the usual way.

Should any cup matches not go ahead, they will be moved on a week unless a free has been granted, teams are in County Cup or another Cup game has already been scheduled for that date.

Communications

Yet again, I must remind all Clubs that any communications must be via Club Secretaries to myself.

The only exception being that you can contact your Fixtures Secretary in respect of fixtures and Maxine in respect of referees but only if your referee cannot make your game or if you mark the referee under 51, all other communications must be as above.

It is unacceptable for Managers to send derogatory emails about members of my Committee in any circumstance.

Transfers

Can you please ensure that the transfer form, old registration card and payment are delivered together rather than emailing the form and expecting to give the card in when you collect the new card, this is not the procedure and the transfer will not be completed until everything has been received.

League Meeting

Please find attached the minutes from the League Meeting held in September which has all the relevant dates regarding the non playing weeks over Christmas.

Regards.

Club Linesman Workshop

Dear Member Clubs

Due to the Club Linesman Workshop on Thursday 10th November now being FULLY BOOKED, the Mid Herts Rural Minors League are pleased to be able to inform you that we have arranged another Workshop to help your willing volunteers learn a little bit more about how to “run the line”.

The Workshop will be delivered by Hertfordshire FA’s Referee Development Officer (and ex-Premier League and FIFA Assistant Referee) Phil Sharp.

We have booked the main hall of the Shamrock Club in Welwyn Garden City for Thursday the 8th of December 2016 from 8.00 to 10.00pm. The doors will be open from 7.45.

Please pass this information onto your team managers who need to find a linesman each week. The Workshop is intended for the adult volunteers who need the help. It is not designed for already qualified Referees or for players who would like to become Referees. It is genuinely aimed at the keen adults who would like some helpful advice. Therefore, there is a minimum age of 16 for attendees.

Phil will make the evening fun, informative and active! I’m sure everyone who attends will learn a lot and have a good time. Participants do not need to bring anything along as everything needed will be provided.

In order to book a place, please ask your Club Linesmen to send an email to Gordon Marshall, our Referee Development Officer at refereedevelopment@midherts.com

We will strictly only accept individual bookings please and we will not accept block bookings from Clubs.

Although there will be no charge for the Workshop, the League hopes that people who book to attend actually do so as non-attendance deprives a place to someone else that wanted to be there.

Places are limited to 30 so make sure the applications are sent in as soon as possible.

Full details will be sent directly to participants.

These Workshops are popular, so get in early!

Kind regards.
